ProjectsRenovated Homes › Dalkeith Redevelopment

The client in this instance had unsuccessfully dealt with other 'renovation' companies who were simply going to tack on a number of rooms to the rear of the home. No real attention was paid to the existing layout or how to reconfigure the design.

John & Julie created a new home by redesigning the existing house as part of the new works. The entire design was sympathetic to the style of the 1930's construction, yet modernized throughout and the transition was difficult to find. Visitors to the new home were hard pressed to tell which rooms were new and which were part of the older home.

Of particular note is the visibility afforded from the kitchen to the play area for children, and the creation of a large and modern Ensuite and WIR to the older house, a feature often missing in redevelopment.
